The new family doctor program
They are always your first point of contact, coordinate your treatment and involve the right specialist colleagues. In this way, you avoid unnecessary doctor visits and double examinations and your general practitioner can keep track of your health.
Your benefits
If you choose one of our practices, we want to make sure that we can be there for you promptly and offer you additional convenience. In the avi app, you have access to additional (video) consultations for small matters with your account. For example, should you need a spontaneous sick note or referral, this makes it easier for you to find a suitable appointment that fits your everyday life. These appointments are activated daily and are between 5 and 10 minutes long.
From the age of 35, statutory health insurance companies usually cover a comprehensive preventive examination (Check-up 35) every three years. Patients who are enrolled in a family doctor program receive this examination every two years. AOK Bayern also offers participants free skin cancer screening every two years before they turn 35. This is usually only available from the age of 35.
In the family doctor program, you choose one practice as your primary point of contact instead of switching between family doctors, so the practice you choose is able to keep track of your health. The health insurance company therefore pays for a higher treatment cost: Your: e Doctor: in has more freedom, e.g. E.g. for: more time in appointments, additional advice on nutrition, smoking, stress or weight, exchange with your specialists. It has been proven that patients in family doctor programs are better cared for (e.g. fewer hospital stays and complications from chronic illnesses) *.
Frequently asked questions
We send a participation form to the health insurance company after you have registered for the family doctor program in the app. Once you have enrolled, your benefits will always apply to the next quarter (if enrolled in the first month of the previous quarter; exception AOK Bavaria: if enrolled in the first two weeks of the first month of the previous quarter) or the quarter after next (if in the second or third month of the Registered in the previous quarter) active. Example: Registration in April - membership with all benefits active from July. Registration in May - membership active from October.
No, we continue to offer you the usual high quality of care. Participation in the family doctor program is voluntary. Of course, there are patients who currently do not need a permanent contact person or do not want to commit themselves. We understand that.
If you want to leave the family doctor program for important reasons, such as moving or dissatisfaction with the care in our practice, you are free to do so at any time. In general, termination is always possible at the end of a year of participation. To cancel, please contact your health insurance company in writing.
If you would like to change your avi regular practice for personal reasons, you can do so. Simply write us a message to hausarztprogramm@avimedical.com or send us a message using the message function in your app.
No, the family doctor program is a permanently free offer from your health insurance company. The health insurance companies are legally obliged to offer this special form of primary care care in participating practices.
You can directly visit all ophthalmologists, pediatricians, gynecologists, dentists, and other specialists with whom you are already being treated. If any new complaints arise, we will first advise you in our practice and, if necessary, refer you , to suitable specialists. With the transfer, we receive all the results issued there in full to our practice and you no longer have to worry about anything. You can contact emergency services at any time.
Not yet, but we're working on it. In the future, Avi Medical would also like to offer a program for privately insured people so that all patients can benefit from the same advantages. This service is then not financed by the health insurance companies, but purely by Avi Medical.
The family doctor program system works on a trust basis and neither Avi Medical nor the insurance company controls which doctors you visit. Of course, you can always visit other Avi Medical practices or other family doctors if you cannot get an appointment in your practice, there is an emergency, or you are on vacation. However, it is not possible to enroll in a family doctor program at several practices. If the health insurance company becomes aware that different general practitioners are being visited at the same time, this can e.g. B. lead to exclusion from the program.
Your family doctor program with all the benefits starts:In the next quarter if you registered in the 1st month of the previous quarter.In the quarter after next if you registered in the 2nd/3rd. Month of the previous quarter. You will find out the start date in the Avi Medical app and in writing from your health insurance company.
Insured people from TK, DAK, KKH, hkk, HEK and BARMER can currently take part. A new addition is AOK Bayern. In the long term, we would like to offer the program to all statutory health insurance patients. We are currently working on concluding contracts with the health insurance companies.
